Jennifer Hudson embraced the contrasting texture trend in a strapless latex dress on the 50th anniversary American Music Awards red carpet in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The EGOT winner wore a custom-made dress by La Roxx. Hudson wore the shiny, floor-length dress over a sheer, long-sleeved bodice that was embellished with shimmering jewels at the collar. Her ensemble included tight latex opera gloves and a floor-length train that was attached to the sleeves of the shirt, giving it a cape-like effect.

Hudson wore earrings by Anayah that matched her jeweled collar, as well as rings by A. Jaffe and Zydo. She completed the look with satin black pumps that were barely visible under her dress.
During the event, Jennifer Hudson sang Houston’s best-known song, “I Will Always Love You,” made popular by the 1992 film “The Bodyguard,” starring Houston and Kevin Costner.
This isn’t the first time Hudson has worn a custom creation from La Roxx. At the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, she wore a sheer fabric catsuit with crystal embellishments paired with a textured leather trench.
The 50th anniversary of the American Music Awards honored its history with new performances and interviews from music legends like Jennifer Lopez and Reba McEntire. The milestone event features never-before-seen archival footage and celebrates the show’s impact on pop culture and music’s greatest moments.
